スウェーデンから4月レターが届きました！

スウェーデンからこんにちは。

スウェーデンはようやく早春を迎えていて、野山に草花が咲き始めて、私もお庭を冬のお休みから復活させる時期が来ました。

そしてこの時期といえば、スウェーデンでも桜の季節が近づいています。

日本で見た盛大な桜に比べると少し見劣りしてしまいますが、スウェーデンでも晩春には桜が咲くですよ！

この時期に桜を見るたびにまた日本に桜を見に行きたくなります！

さて、若い人からお年寄りまでみんな植物を栽培したり、

世話したりするのが好きなスウェーデンでは、春はとりわけ忙しい季節です。

みんな、自宅の室内や、バルコニー、共用庭園やお庭などでタネや植物を植え始めます。中でも最近興味深いのは水耕栽培の流行り具合です。

従来の農法に比べて水耕栽培は半分の時間で植物を栽培できるので、

効率的という点だけなく、農薬を使わない、肥料の量が少ない、輸送によるCo2の排出が少ない等、環境負荷が少ない農法としても人々の関心をとても集めています。

Greetings from Sweden! 

We have an early spring in Sweden with a lot of wild flowers in bloom and the garden i just about to wake up. 

The cherry trees will bloom here in late April, but not as beautiful as they do in Japan. I wish I could be there to see them!

The spring is a very busy season. 

The interest from very young to older people to grow their own plants is big. People are growing their seeds and plants indoors, on balconies and in their allotments and gardens.
One very interesting trend we can see is the interest in hydroponics, to grow in water. 

This is not only practical, it is also an environmentally friendly way to grow with large crops in half the time compared to traditional methods.
