スウェーデンから11月のレターが届きました - Message from founder LENA

All the beautiful colours of the autumn is here and the first frost has come.
Still there is a lot you can grow in our kitchen garden.
We use cloches and covers to keep the plants protected from now on. Kale can be grown and harvested for a long time still.
A few years ago I went out in my garden at Christmas day to haves brussels sprouts to cook at our Christmas dinner with friends and family. The snow had covered the plant but it was in perfect condition.
The basil and the mixed salad I grow indoor thrive under the plant lamp in my kitchen and it make me happy every time I cut and eat something from my indoor kitchen garden.
Time has now come to grow bulbs for Christmas decoration as hyacinth and amaryllis. This is great joy to many. Also the children can have a bulb to follow and see when the green starts to sprout and in mid December the miracle of the beautiful flowers that opens up.

いよいよスウェーデンの秋も深まり、木々が色とりどりに紅葉しています。先日は初霜もおりました。

お庭でのガーデニングシーズンはそろそろ終わりですが、キッチンガーデンなどの室内栽培は、まだまだこれからが本番です。

お庭の植物は、カバーや天蓋をつけることで寒さを防ぐことができます。

寒さから守ってあげれば、ケールなどはまだまだ露地でも育ちます。
1、2年前のクリスマスの日には、お庭の菜園から取ってきたブリュッセルスプラウト（芽キャベツ）を家族とのディナーに使ったりもしました。

植物によっては、雪も湿度や温度を保ち、とても良いコンディションを作ってくれます。

室内のキッチンガーデンでは、室内用栽培ライトの下でバジルやミックスリーフをサラダ用に育てています。そこから摘んで料理をして食べる時、いつもとっても幸せな気分になります。

栽培用ライトはデコレーションにもなるので、クリスマスの時期にはヒヤシンスやアマリリスと組み合わせてディスプレイを作ったりしています。ライトを使った装飾はとっても綺麗で、家中がきらびやかで楽しくなりますね。

加えて、子供たちにとっては、真冬でもライトの下で芽吹いていく花や植物を見ることで、自然の神秘と偉大さを感じることと思います。是非、栽培用ライトを冬のインテリアに取り入れてみてください！
